American Express celebrates the US Open with NYC Pickleball Court & Lounge

While we’re still weeks away from the US Open and Serena Williams’ final bow before her retirement, American Express is gearing up for the annual tournament with its own Soho pop-up.

As the biggest names in the world of tennis descend on New York, Amex is teaming up with Break the Love for a rooftop pickleball court and US Open-themed lounge at Showfields that will reflect the experience of fans at the tournament itself.

As part of the partnership, the walk-in tennis club and credit company create an immersive experience with a rooftop pickleball court and bookable ping-pong tables. The Card Member Lounge, which will occupy the Showfields fourth-floor loft, will feature Gray Goose Honey Deuce popsicles, US Open-inspired nail art courtesy of Chillhouse, and an American Express Pro Shop with exclusive merchandise Amex x Break the Love created with Wilson. .

The partnership also includes an IRL element to bring players onto the pitch. Tennis fans will have access to 10,000 court reservations in the New York area, while cardholders can unlock special peak time access using their Amex card.

“We are thrilled to welcome tennis fans from around the world to the US Open and to bring some of that experience to hundreds of courts in the greater New York area through our new partnership with Break the Love” , said the chief marketing officer of American Express. Elizabeth Rutledge said in a press release: “With the growing popularity of tennis and millions of people discovering the sport for the first time, we are delighted to be working with our partners to connect new fans to the game.”

The pop-up is open on Saturday August 13 and Sunday August 14 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Monday August 15 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
