B-52s announce North American farewell tour

The B-52s have announced details for a North American farewell tour – buy your tickets here and see the full list of dates below.

The group, best known for their hits “Love Shack” and “Rock Lobster”, formed in October 1976 over a fiery volcanic cocktail shared at Chinese restaurant Hunan. They released their self-titled debut album in 1979, produced by Chris Blackwell via Island Records.

In 2019 they played a UK summer farewell tour, having celebrated their 40th anniversary the year before co-headlining a North American tour with Boy George & Culture Club and Tom Bailey by Thompson Twins.

The new tour dates begin in Seattle in August and will see the B-52 backed by The Tubes and KC & The Sunshine Band.

In 2015, B-52’s Kate Pierson released a solo debut album with a song co-written by Nick Valensi and Sia of The Strokes.

The new wave icons released their last studio album, “Funplex”, in 2008. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1979.
