Buckcherry brings North American Assault to London Music Hall

London Music Hall hosted Buckcherry with guests Rubikon, After the Lounge and Heart Attack Kids on Wednesday June 29th.

Local actor Heart Attack Kids was the first and rocked the crowd with a frenzied Forest City hard rock set that would please any brain teaser. It was a night out for London bands with rockers After The Lounge then taking to the stage and delivering some classically inspired hard rock with frontman Scotty Bollert doing a great job with the crowd.

Boston band Rubikon were the official support for both Canadian dates on this tour and their Facebook page lists them as “The Greatest (Opening) Band Ever”. Their Wikipedia page confirms this by listing Disturbed, Black Label Society, Damageplan, Sevendust, Shinedown, The Cult, Tesla, Pop Evil and Candledust among the bands they have opened for.

The main reason most of the crowd was there was to see Josh Todd and the current incarnation of Buckcherry. Opening with 54321 from their latest album Hellbound, the punk-inspired rocker was a great song to get everyone moving on the floor in front of the stage.

There were five songs from the new album tonight and no one seemed to complain. There was also plenty of room for those familiar with the big hit Lit Up and the ballad Top Ten Sorry played in the middle of the show. A nice surprise was the cover of Bryan Adams’ Summer of ’69 just before the last song of the main set, Crazy Bitch, the song everyone had been waiting for all night. The song was performed as an extended medley with the songs Jungle Boogie and Proud Mary. The group came out for an encore, the song “Say Fuck It”, which is as good a song as any to end the night.
