Circle Jerks’ Keith Morris contracts COVID-19, band postpones North American tour

Most of the Canadian dates have already taken place, but a new date in Vancouver has been booked

Posted on April 13, 2022

Legendary punk troupe Circle Jerks have had to postpone several upcoming 40th anniversary tour dates due to frontman Keith Morris contracting COVID-19. As a result, the trek with Teenagers, Negative Approach, 7seconds and Bouncing Souls has been pushed back to a series of undisclosed later dates.

As most of the trek’s Canadian dates have already taken place, most of the country is unaffected by the postponement. However, a new date for the band’s Vancouver show has emerged, surfacing on July 3 at the Commodore Ballroom (with support from 7seconds and “special guests”).

The band’s statement on Morris’ condition, along with their tour schedule, can be found below, while further ticketing information can be found here.

We had hoped it wouldn’t come to this, but our fearless lead singer, our dude, Keith Morris, is heading home to rest for 10 days as he recovers from COVID-19. That won’t stop Keith! You have no idea how thrilled we are to be on tour for the first time in 15 years and seeing your enthusiasm every night has made it worth it. Thank you! We expect to announce all rescheduled shows in the next week or two. And we’ll be resuming the tour on Tuesday, April 26 in Austin for two nights at the Mohawk. Get ready, Texas!

This postponement is the reality of touring in 2022, but that doesn’t take away how financially crippling it is for everyone involved – especially our good friends and support groups, 7Seconds & Negative Approach. We sell screen printed posters signed by Keith Morris, John Brannon & Kevin Seconds in our online store. All proceeds from this and the North American Flyer t-shirt will be split equally among the three groups. If you want to support this tour, this is the best way to do it. Link in bio.

We will continue to provide updates on Keith and all things Circle Jerks on our social media. We wish Keith a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you all soon.
