Watch Corey Taylor Stick To Cheesy Rock Bands In ‘Samantha’s Gone’

Corey Taylor shared his wacky new video for “Samantha’s Gone”, a track from his debut album, CMFT.

The meta-clip features actor Dean Cameron arriving on set to direct the song’s music video. Taylor plays the frustrated cameraman he’s forced to watch while a nerdy glam rock band harasses him on stage. After Cameron practically fires the group, Taylor and his friends take over in an attempt to win over the difficult director. Keep your eyes peeled for Steel Panther cameos, Bravo’s Tom Sandoval Vanderpump Rules and Greg Grunberg, Ace Von Johnson, Travis Miguel and Jonah Nimoy.

“The ‘Samantha’s Gone’ video served two purposes: to make fun of so-called ‘indie rock’ bands and bring all of my friends together to get together and have a good time,” Taylor said in a statement. “We’ve all gone back and forth between fun and social distancing. Watching the first “band” was great, then getting kicked out of our own song in favor of Steel Panther was the icing on the cake – can’t wait for everyone to see it!

Last weekend, Taylor teamed up with Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters and Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction to play the role of Ground Control at David Bowie’s virtual birthday celebration. The evening also featured unforgettable performances from Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Gary Oldman and more.
