WMG Breakout Punk Rock Band The Linda Lindas Signs Global Publishing Deal With Warner Chappell Music

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has signed a worldwide administration deal with female punk rock band The Linda Lindas. The group rose to prominence in May 2021 with their powerful viral hit “Racist, Sexist Boy”, which racked up millions of views on YouTube and won Best Punk Record at this year’s Libera Awards. Following the release of their debut album, Growing Up, the group made appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series and in May of this year were named to the Billboard 21 Under 21 list.

The Linda Lindas have also recently landed several major sync placements in film and television productions, including “Oh” in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin (HBOMax) and Ms. Marvel (Disney+), as well as “Big Mouth” and ” Rebel Girl” in Moxie (Netflix).

This half-Asian, half-Latino punk rock band is made up of sisters Mila de la Garza (11, drummer) and Lucia de la Garza (15, guitarist), cousin Eloise Wong (14, bassist) and of family friend Bela Salazar (guitarist, 17). The Linda Lindas first performed together in 2018 for a one-off performance at Girlschool LA, an annual female-run festival in Los Angeles, and in 2019 they wrote their first original song, “Claudia Kishi,” for the short. Netflix documentary feature The Claudia Kishi Club. In 2021, they reached a wider audience by appearing in a key scene in Amy Poehler’s film, Moxie, before performing their now-legendary set at the Los Angeles Public Library. Unexpectedly and organically, the “Racist, Sexist Boy” music video went viral, and later that year the band signed to Epitaph Records. They currently have over 250,000 listeners on Spotify and recently completed a European mini-tour, opening for Japanese Breakfast, in addition to performing at major summer festivals, such as Primavera Sound and Outside Lands. The band have also played to sold-out houses around the world, from the Troubadour in Los Angeles and the Bowery Ballroom in New York to the O2 Academy Islington in London.
